Heidi’s connection with the Earth and elements began at an early age. She grew up surrounded by her maternal grandparents’ 800 acre dairy farm, and was also fortunate enough to have her paternal grandmother nearby. Both of her grandmothers introduced her to the flora and fauna of southern New Hampshire and as she grew up, she developed a unique kinship with the land and the spirits of the forest. The Celtic wisdom and spirits of her ancestors gave her a solid foundation for interpreting the natural world and an understanding of the sacred connection between the land and its inhabitants.

Heidi began studying the elements in earnest in the 1980s and delved deep into esoteric studies in the 1990s, which led her into the world of tarot where she discovered the depth of her intuitive nature. She studied the craft of her ancestors with Christopher Penzak, earning her Second Degree. She was coached in singing for two years by the renowned Philadelphia soprano Jane Waters and still enjoys drumming and singing when the opportunity arises.

She started on the path of the Wild Woman in the 2000s when she began to nurture the gifts of her grandmothers by apprenticing at Wise Way Herbals. She study with Susun Weed and earned her certificate in Therapeutic Herbalism in 2002 at Blazing Star Herbal School. The wild herbal path also led her to meet and study with many Native American healers as well as indigenous healers from North and South America and she’s been privileged to participate in many indigenous sacred ceremonies, and she has also attended the “Goddess to the Core” workshop with Sierra Bender.

Heidi is also a Level II Reiki Practitioner, a professional intuitive Tarot reader who also uses her gifts of claircognizance, clairvoyance and other “clairs”. She’s an eclectic artist, a wool spinner who uses her knowledge of herbs to dye her own wool, and an expert in such household arts and crafts as sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Heidi was a founding member of the Newport Earth Institute with Vincent Bridges and Marty Cain in the 1990s, and today she is a member of the Ra Ma Institute’s Aquarian Woman Leadership Society. She co-hosts a podcast called “Earth and Body Ecosystems on her YouTube channel with Joyce Wheeler.
